The Urban Revamp Design Challenge

Nekundi Village, Doddanekundi (Ward 85)

The neighbourhood received 17 proposals from architects, urban designers and urban planners for improving the stretch from Nekkundi Circle to Doddankundi Lake. You can view the design brief for the challenge here. The shortlisted proposals presented their designs to a panel of distinguished jurors. You can view a recording of the jury session here

 The proposals were also opened out to citizens who voted for their favourite proposals.

Winners have been selected based on the juror's scores and citizen voting!

Winning Entry 1:
Convergence at Crossroads | 11014

Design frameworks and interventions that enable the co-existence of Village in a city and City in a village.

Winning Entry 2:
Chaos to Complete | 10835

The design focuses on providing pedestrian convenience, effective traffic management, long term operation & maintenance of utilities, all the while acknowledging Doddanekundi's rich heritage.

Reviving and establishing the cultural identity of Doddanekundi by understanding the rich culture, identifying the nodes and incorporating the lost activities
